There are similar reports in the online forums: https://forums.proftpd.org/smf/index.php/topic,12043.0.html However, as yet I've not been able to reproduce the issue, and thus cannot tell if it is a packaging issue, a build issue, or a migration of old pre-MySQL 5.7+ tables+data to a MySQL 5.7+ world...
