Hi I have setup a pureftpd server with using MySQL for authentication. In addition I have used the -j server argument so the server automatically creates the user directory the first time they login. Basically everything works correctly except the permissions of the user directory created. The difficulty I have is the directory created is owned by root and the group is wheel. Root with READ/WRITE Access, Wheel With Read only and Others None. There is no anonymous access allowed. I have tried other user and groups without success. From a post Jeremy Kitchen just sent he says that pureFTPd gets its privileges from the OS, but is this true with the MYSQL option? I have tried various options including having folders created inherit their permissions from the parent, but still wheel has read only access and others none. pureFTPd is otherwise accessing the correct directory. I am sorry if this is a regular question, but I'm a newbie and haven't been able to find the answer anywhere else. Any help would be appreciated.
