Thanks, Chris.

I am allowing all RDP connections and have NLA disabled but am still not successfully able to rdesktop to the machine.

I have no trouble using "rdesktop -4" ofcourse.

I'll do some more online searches on this I suppose - thanks again.

I thought it only worked with per user licensing, but I could be wrong, you
need to Google.

I "think" that this is because rdesktop does not support the latest version of
the RDP protocol in Windows 2008. There have been a number of posts about
this, but I wasn't paying attention. I think you just need to downgrade the
security level of RDP on your Windows server. You might need to
disable "Network Level Authentification", but I am guessing, and your best
bet will be google "rdesktop "windows 2008"". Googling your error message
also seemed to get a lot of hits around the same topic.

I would also make sure you are on a recent rdesktop version 1.6+.

And don't forget to review the event log on the Windows server, particularly
the security log - might give some clues.

Sorry my response is largely passing you back to Google, but given the lack of
response on this list, I felt that my very poor reply might be better than
nothing. Hopefully someone will come back with something more useful.

Good luck.
