I don't know exactly why this happens, but for me, it seems to work either 
if you turn off numlock on the client, or use the -N option.

It should work if you use the latest SVN version of rdesktop. Hopefully, a 
new release of rdesktop will be done in a near future.

Should work, take a look at the documentation for the -r option.
