I might try some tcpdump-tricks to check if the feature is even 
requested by the clients etc

I am not very skilled doing so, so any suggestions are welcome.

I wonder if I have to raise the samba-debug-level (log level) to catch 
these packages.

Right now I have a 15GB pcap and start filtering things ;-)
