The website at silcnet.org, and more specificly the SILC Network section now includes a SILCNet server reliability record for all SILCNet servers, that indicates the reliability of a server's uptime and reachability inside the SILC Network. Each server record is updated once in an hour to see whether the server is reachable and if it isn't it will degrade the reliability record. Now, this is of course subjective testing but do indicate, especially in the longer period of time, which of the SILCNet servers are the most reliable in terms of uptime and reachability. The purpose of this record is naturally more of visual than actual precise information. Even though, the record has been up only about three days it already shows the issues with certain servers that has been having problems with network connectivity in the past. However, so far the numbers are very consistent and no serious problems exist in any of the servers. The records can be viewed at http://silcnet.org/network/servers/ Pekka ________________________________________________________________________ Pekka Riikonen priikone at silcnet.org Secure Internet Live Conferencing (SILC) http://silcnet.org/ _________________________________________________________ Info: http://lists.silcnet.org/listinfo/silc-announce Archive: http://lists.silcnet.org/pipermail/silc-announce FAQ: http://silcnet.org/?page=faq
