Debug build of silc toolkit fails to connect (Incorrect Signature)

Hello,

    I have the latest silc toolkit code (1.1.8) and am building in VS 
2005. When I build in Release mode, it connects and runs fine. When I 
build in debug mode (defining SILC_DEBUG), the server disconnects me 
during the key exchange with the error message "Error Incorrect 
signature (9) received during key exchange". I am using the exact same 
server (Ubuntu, 1.1.14) and settings on each attempt. How is the 
signature calculated? What tests can I do to figure out what is going wrong?
