for what you want to know about supported channel modes, please visit

i use only modes
f (founder - when i revisit that channel and did not change keys since
last visit, i can claim founder/operator rights)
s (secure - channel is invisible in lists of channels)
p (private). your may need something more, thus i encourage you to read
the manual. no pun intended

seems like 'key' command is a silc only command, not supported in pidgin.
there are two groups of commands 'silc' and 'irssi' commands.

this is what i see, when i type /help

Irssi commands:
alias      cycle       help    names     script     unload
beep       dehilight   hilight query     scrollback unquery
bind       disconnect  ignore  quit      server     version
cat        echo        join    rawlog    set        window
cd         eval        lastlog reconnect silcnet
channel    exec        layout  reload    statusbar
clear      flushbuffer load    resize    toggle
completion foreach     log     rmreconns unalias
connect    format      msg     save      unignore

silc:
action cumode key      motd   sconnect umode
attr   detach kick     nick   shutdown users
away   file   kill     notice silcoper watch

close  info   listkeys part   stats    whowas
cmode  invite me       ping   topic


i have no problems whatsoever to use commands from both groups (silc and
irssi).

in pidgin. what commands your client supports
