If it works with telnet, there is something going on with slrnpull - it
spends a lot of time doing something and loses the connection to the
server in the process.
I can see several ways of resolving this, but they take time and require
mucking about in the source.
1) if you adapt slrnpull to output timestamps with the debug messages,
and strace it, you can compare those outputs and see what's happening.
2) if you add a lot of fprintf(stderr, "slrnpull: i'm in routine foo()
doing baz step 1\n"); you can also see what's going on
3) does it help when you (temporarily) remove the score file or
something like that?
