Maybe you ran slrn inside a UTF-8 terminal, which is not supported by that
version? I just tried one of your recent UTF-8 postings with slrn 0.9.8.1
on a latin-1 terminal and it worked as expected (in slrn-stable, I did not
even offer the option to keep declared UTF-8 "as is", because I knew
slang-1 could not handle it properly).
