[UNIX] How to spawn a different shell?

Hi all,

Is there a way to tell slrn 0.9.8.1pl1 to use my favorite shell to
launch child processes (e.g. web browser) instead of 'sh' ?

My $SHELL is correctly set to '/bin/tcsh' but slrn seems to ignore
that variable.
