The question is weather it is slrns fault or the fault from
slrnface.

Did you also remove the slrnface.sl macro? Or is this macro still
active and loaded?

Slrn itself has no special treatment of "X-face:" headers, it is
just a header as any other X-header. This is completely done by
slang macros.

But what slrn does is to unfold headers like this X-face header you
posted back into a single line.

Could you try to rename the header line in your spool from X-face:
to X-test: or something similar and see if slrn still has problems.

If the problem remains there is something wrong in the header
unfolding. If it is gone, then there is still something wrong in you
setup related to X-Face display.

Could you also provide some more information about your setup.
- slang version
- compiled with iconv support
- OS
