I suggest expiring automatically added score entries after a while to 
prevent slowing down group entry.  A good default like 6 months should 
do the job.  It's pretty unlikely that after 6 months any article will 
get followups.  Perhaps if one kept this scorefile separate from the 
other scorefiles in use.  Specially formatted comments in the scorefile 
could record score metadata like score entry dates.
