Threading questions

I just ran into a couple of threads that don't seem properly displayed in slrn.
If you look at the Message-ID and References in Case 1 below, you'll see that
the two posts have the same title, but belong in different threads. Case 2 has
three unrelated articles with the same subject that are displayed as threaded
I'm seeing this in Mode 5 - Thread then sort by scores, and Mode 7 - Thread
then sort by scores and subject on pre-69 with new_subject_breaks_threads set
to 0
Shouldn't I see unrelated posts (i.e. not referenced) with the same title in
different threads in the header display? In other words, what I'm saying is
that the subject field should have less weight than the message ID and
references, not more.
