Is the problem in slrn or in s-lang? Ideally, it should be possible to add the
pattern you've seen as an argument to the ignore_quotes command in .slrnrc:

<http://pjr.lasnobberia.net/slrn-doc/slrn-manual-5.html#ignore_quotes>

But the s-lang documentation suggests that this may not be possible:

<http://www.jedsoft.org/slang/doc/html/slang-22.html>

Any such problems may be solved if PCRE or Oniguruma is used in slrn after
version 0.9.9, as JED is (I think) planning.
