There isn't much to look at yet, except the updated documentation that you're 
already familiar with. If you join the project, you can add and alter 
whatever you want in the subversion repository.

I think you need to register with SourceForge in order to join in the fun. See
<https://sourceforge.net/account/registration/>.

Both work equally well. The sourceforge.net address is forwarded to my gmail
