It's still useful for reading mailing lists via Gmane. Plus, it doesn't alter the original postings, it just enhances readability in most cases. And you can turn it off anytime. > I do use minimal_multipart, and wonder how I ever managed without it, but I > don't think it should be made "official", since it *conceals* a lack of MIME > support in slrn rather than *fixing* it. Again, its use is optional. Plus, I'd argue that a pragmatic handling of (mime) text to enhance readability as opposed to a puristic full-fledged mime-support suits a slim slrn very well, especially for quick perusal of Gmane groups. And you can always pipe to metamail. > Question: does minimal_multipart play nicely with your own slrnmime > extensions? Ermh, yes, until you tell me otherwise ;-) I have to admit that I almost never use this part of my extensions anymore because Thomas was so kind as to let me try his mailcap patch which basically makes my mime-efforts obsolete, hehe. There's still other stuff in the package (wrapping, a corresponding functionality to Mutt's display_filter) that I personally find useful. As you're using latest slrn, be sure to install the patched20 branch -- I have look into how to make the branching clearer and adapt it to the current slrn development status ... if I find the time. c -- \black\trash movie _C O W B O Y_ _C A N O E_ _C O M A_ Ein deutscher Western/A German Western -->> http://www.blacktrash.org/underdogma/ccc.html -->> http://www.blacktrash.org/underdogma/ccc-en.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The NEW KODAK i700 Series Scanners deliver under ANY circumstances!
