Directly editing the newsrc file is simply faster, simpler, and even
enjoyable in comparison to slrn UI, more so while sorting the list
IMO.

To add a group with subscribed status, add group name followed by a
colon on its own line ...

  rec.arts.anime.misc:


... (or not at least in 0.9.9p1_1  & some earlier version(s)).  To
keep the group in list in unsubscribed status, replace colon by
exclamaiton point ...

  alt.cable-tv!


... and to completely remove the group from list is to delete the
line.
