It looks to me like it's doing the same job as the IM: feed mechanism people are starting to deploy - except that, because it uses the source ip address of the request for state by default, it will fail in lots and lots of cases. Fortunately, I can't see that many people using it, because you have to actually go and do something. How many users are going to be able to accurately modify the URLs of feeds they use?
