I have noticed an RSS client in my server logs that is causing a
nuisance and wondered if anyone else had seen it. It only requests
URLs of published RSS feeds but adds a trailing underscore on the
end, resulting in 404 errors for every request.

The client acts like a spider, making requests separated by 1 to 30
minutes and goes through all the feeds on the site. The source of
requests is 24.16.153.48, which is the Comcast network. The client
uses HTTP 1.0 and there is no user agent information.

I found one other Web site with published server logs that has
encountered this client and wondered if there were more?

If anyone here is responsible for this client, could you call it off
and fix the problem please.

Phil
