So be sure you write them equivalent tools.

Right or wrong the uptake of creating and using RSS has succeeded from being
'reasonably' simple for the various parties involved.

This is probably the most important point.  Well said.

This is why I'm interested in see that an attempt to "add" other data to a
feed not be a one-trick-pony; only good for just enclosures.  I'd rather
have a mechanism that invites tool developers to add more than just
something like enclosure detection/consumption.  As in, detect the presense
of a seeAlso sort of element and then recognize they're enclosures.  It's
that two-step process that might allow for detection and use of more than
just an enclosure type.  It's also, potentially, an easier way for the tools
to present a UI option.  That an item "has more" is one step, that options
exist on what to do with any number of different 'types' of them is
something else.  Sort of like mail having generic 'attachments', you want to
know they're present but what you do with them, or have your tools handle,
is dependent on another layer of choices.
