Does it make sense to talk about the URIs themselves? All the properties 
of rss:Item and rss:Channel apply to the information resource named with 
the URL which is currently the value of the rss:link property [1]. It 
seems to me to unnecessarily increase the complexity of the graph to 
recommend channels and items to be anonymous, but even if the channel 
and the web-page where the representation of the channel can be 
retrieved are considered to be two different things I see no reason not 
to model the latter as names resource allowing it to be the subject of 
statements (there is an obvious relation (if not identity) between the 
resource of type channel with title "My Blog" and the resource which can 
be dereferenced to a page with the title "My Blog", this relation seems 
to me much stronger than the one to the "URI itself").

In contrast the Image resource should be anonymous, as its properties 
like rss:title do not necessarily apply to the image as such but rather 
to the function role of the image within the channel or item.

In fact in KnoBot such a statement is contained in the answer to an MGET request to the URL of a regular article.
