I have a strange one - tightvnc connects, can click some places but not others

I am using tightVNC on windows, connected by a Cisco AnyConnect VPN, to a
Fedora VM.

I can connect just fine and can click anywhere on the Fedora menu bar that
has "Applications", "Places", "Files", etc. I cannot, however type in any
of the applications once they are launched. For instance. If I go to
Applications->Favorites->Terminal, I do get a Terminal windows. Once the
terminal window is launched, I cannot type in the terminal. This is true
for any applications.

Has anyone seen this before?
