When I attempt to vnc to some of my computers. It remotes onto another computer on the network. The standard way we remote into a device is by the computer name and sometimes by ip address. This issue normally happens when I go to remote by computer name. Can anyone help me resolve this? I can ssh into the command line interface of this VM with no problem. I can VNC to the same VM but the first thing I see is a colorfully tiled window with a date and time. But I think your VM is set up that way it creates a new X session for any VNC client connecting, and displays that new X session via VNC. You move the mouse to the bottom center of screen, click and hold, then drag the blind up to show what was behind the blind. They put that in a couple versions ago, and it took some time to figure it out. Don't know how VNC would show it, but on the real screen it shows a little arrow going up in the bottom center to kind of give you the ideal. As such, hit the space bar to get to a login prompt.
