Yeah, but people put in blank lines in their messages, therefore
it's not something you can as readily tune your eyes to pick up.

Yeah, me too, so 1/6 of the space always to the header feels like
a waste.

Well, some colors show up. Maybe vt100 isn't so feature rich?
But I do prefer monochrome, just like you.

Good to know. Still, I find that header *really* annoying,
and have lived for years with the stuff you list.
