I'm trying to post to some newsgroups using 'tin' (or to be precise 'rtin'). I'm using a remote-server I got access to, but have run into a little problem... In the options-menue (M), I've specified my mail-address and name, and this shows up in the "From:"-header when I post. Unfortunately, when I'm done editing and try to post, a "Sender:"-header is generated. This appaer to be combining my username, hostname and domain-name on my *local* machine. Unfortunately, tin then rejects my article because this "Sender:"-header is invalid -- no surprise as I don't *really* have a domain-name (as my computer isn't permanently connected) and use a generic domain-name. What I'd *like* to do, is either replace this generated "Sender:"-header with my email-address (same as "From:"), or maybe a combination of my username on the remote nntp-server and the remote servers name (the servers name is specified in the NNTPSERVER-eviroment-variable). I really thought 'tin' did this itself when invoked as 'rtin' towards a remote-server... after all, the settings on the *local* machine should be obviously moot. Any suggestions? Either by enviromental-variables, etc-files, tin-configuration or options to tin? -Koppe -- Baard Ove Kopperud | To try is the ICQ: 24 36 74 92 | first step Y!M: bokopperud | towards failure.
