Oh, you might be right. I often log in via a telnet window (from
work - can't use SSH), and the connection is often very shaky. So
yes, the terminal session times out all the time. I should've
realized that the processes from the hung login might continue
running, or resume if the problem resolves, and that would rewrite
the file.
