Tin problem - reconnection always needed?

I've been using tin for years, and have never had a problem until now. When I run tin and try to connect to my news server, it will connect and then almost immediately say: Connection to news server has timed out. Reconnect? (Y/n) Y If I answer Y, it will connect and keep doing the connect/reconnect in an endless loop or until I hit N. If I set the option in tinrc for auto-reconnect, it will hang forever. I am using tin 1.9.2, but have tried 1.7.5 and 1.8.3 and they are all having this problem. I'm not sure how it started, but it seemed to come about when I tried installing v1.9.2. Furthermore, this error occurs on any NNTPSERVER and it only occurs with tin. I can use Sylpheed just fine, but I'd rather use tin. I am running this on Solaris v9 in case that makes a difference. Any ideas? Thanks, Joey
