Killfile questions

Hello,

I did the following:

1. Changed my mail_address setting in the tinrc file so that a
   different (and incorrect) address would show on my posts.

2. Started tin, posted a test article to alt.test, then quit out of tin.

3. Started up tin a second time and opened the alt.test newsgroup.
   My article was there.

4. Killfiled that From: address (my bogus address).

5. Marked that post unread.

6. Quit out of tin again.

7. Started tin for the third time and opened alt.test. My article was
   showing.

Why was the article showing if I had killfiled it? Even though I marked
it unread, my "filter" file should have deleted it from view when I
opened the newsgroup again.

Then I did the above a second time, but with a variation at the end:

1. Started tin, posted a new test article, quit tin and then started
   tin again, found the second article and killfiled the From:
   address, then marked the article unread and quit tin. All the
   same as before up to this point.

2. Before starting tin the third time, I modified my tinrc file and
   changed the mail_address setting back to the original (correct)
   address. Then I started tin and opened alt.test. I could still
   see the second post.


The first time I did this exercise, I was reading newsgroups with
the same mail_address setting I had used to post it and then to 
killfile it. Maybe tin doesn't let you killfile yourself?

So that's why when I did it the second time, I modified the mail_address
so that I would be reading newsgroups with a different address from
the one that was in my killfile. Yet, my killed post still showed!

Can anyone explain this?
