Ok, I'm dumbfounded :-D It's kludgy I know, but I assume you've
backups of your tin settings? Though that does present a possibility -
if you narrow down when the change happened, and have backups on
either side (or just don't make many changes), you might run a
comparison (I use a GUI app on my Mac for this, but googling shows a
wealth of *nix utilities) on the filters file to find out what changed
to cause this. Assuming it is the filters file at fault. Have you
tried replacing it to see?

P.S. I hate to say it, but are you _really_ sure you've not got a rule
killfiling 'ping'? Maybe take another look in a text editor and do a
search for 'ping' Why yes, I _am_ a tech support guy, how ever did you
know? ;-) Now your computer _is_ actually plugged in, isn't it sir?
