Variation of Murphy's Law: you allways provide too few information when
describing a Linux problem. ;)

"ends abruptly" means return to the shell prompt. It doesn't do anything
else, no output, no Sig11. It's not reading anything from the server.

I'm accesing a leafnode server in the LAN. I'm not sure about the IPv6
thing. How can I know? At least IPv6 is configured on the box I'm working
on.
