At long last, the problem has been solved, thanks to the patch posted earlier by Seok Chan Lee. The patch to proto_http.c, which corrects a typo in the define for NOTMODIFIED_3_LEN, has solved the issue we were having that caused Opera browsers to hang indefinitely when viewing images on our site.
