white paper of some sort?

I am trying to find information about why Tux was made, how much you
would earn with zero-copy etc. and speed tests to see how much faster
it really is. ie. a white paper of some sort. Ingo, did you write one
or did you just implement it? All I can find when searching for Tux
are penguins :) and references to speed tests, but many links come up
dead.

Hanging around this list for some time, I noticed it's not a developer
list, but more of how to install and use it, but still, many of you
were attracted to tux for some reason. Had you just heard that it was
fast and wanted to try out for yourself, or read some nice page
somewhere?

... and, yes, this is a school project. :)
