Re: Machine freezes with Tux

I believe I am experiencing this as well. The machine is pretty much
identical, though I am not using the VM patch. I am using reiserfs on
both the log partition and in the document root.

The machine has a dual nic, and sometimes 1, sometimes both, and
sometimes neither port of the nic allows pings after the freeze.

I don't believe any messages are sent to console, and definitely no
messages are sent to logfiles.

Neither setting to reboot on kernel panic or a the software watchdog
manage to reboot the machine.

We are only occasionally experiencing the problem, and I can't say I
am 100% certain it is Tux. Every 5 minutes roughly, we read a portion
of the tux log file to determine how many hits per second are being
served, and I think this is what is locking everything up.
