Authentication failure

I'm using v2.5 & am receiving a "ERROR: Net::NNTP->authinfo() 
failed: 502 - Authentication Failed" message. My news provider 
(BellSouth) requires that the ACCOUNT = <user>@bellsouth.net. Could 
this be causing the problem?
