Yes, I do need a password as well as a username. I left that part 
out because it doesn't conatin any special charaters in it like the 
account name does.

I have other news readers setup & working using this account, so I 
know that the user:pass is valid.

I thought that the inclusion of the "@" or "."'s in the account name 
may be causing the authentication failure.
