Ubh 3 wont aquire headers

So I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but it's probably something 
obvious.. I followed the quick start that I found in the mailing 
list, and have done this:

1) Ran install.sh

2) Verified DB inserts, one server, one newsgroup.

3) Ran ubhdb:
2004/06/10 14:43:34 ubhdb.freshen_headers INFO> Freshening headers 
for group alt.binaries.sounds.mp3
2004/06/10 14:43:34 ubhdb.freshen_headers INFO> Purging unreferenced 
headers...
2004/06/10 14:43:34 ubhdb.freshen_headers INFO>     done.  0 purged.
2004/06/10 14:43:34 ubhdb.freshen_headers INFO> Purging unreferenced 
assembles (this may take awhile).
2004/06/10 14:43:34 ubhdb.freshen_headers INFO> Purged 0 unreferenced 
assembles.
2004/06/10 14:43:34 ubhdb INFO> Reset 0 in process headers.
2004/06/10 14:43:34 ubhdb INFO> Reset 0 in process multiparts.

4) Checked Database, nothing new in any tables.  So I assume my 
problem lies here.

Any ideas?  I saw talk of checking .log files for bugs for another 
problem, but I don't see any log files being created.

Also, when I ran makedoc, my README file came out blank?
