Backup vs. Replica?

Just another comment about the topic "backup".

For me a backup which is updating every 5 minutes is a replica but not a
backup.
What if something get's encrypted by a malware? After 5 minutes the
"backup" becomes useless, isn't it?
For me a backup must be on another media and it must be "offine".
