NTFS permission problem

Hello,

I am a total neophyte on programming and system questions but thanks to 
off-line help from Tõivo Leedjärv have been using Unison 2.53.4 with no 
problems since February 2024 for back-ups to and from Ubuntu 22.04 (ntfs 
and ext4 partitions) through the intermediary of a portable SSD (with 
ntfs and ext4 partitions corresponding to the user data).

I am using three ASUS VivoBook notebooks, one used as a desktop, one as 
a portable, and the third (a bit older and with smaller disk capacity) 
as a reserve back-up. I now have to update the third computer to replace 
the second to be sent for repairs. I connected my master data SSD to the 
third computer and launched Unison which worked fine with this 
configuration when last synchronised in August 2024.

Synchronisation of the ext4 folders works fine, but for the ntfs folders 
I am getting the error:

    /Error in setting permissions:
    Système de fichiers accessible en lecture seulement
    [chmod(/media/john/Data/Pictures)]
             = File system accessible in read mode only
    /

My prf file says:.

    /root = /media/john/Data/Pictures
    root = /media/john/T7/Pictures
    # dontchmod=true
    # perms = 0
    times = true/

but when I says /perms = 0/ or /perms = 0o1775/ I get the same result. 
When I look at the permissions for the Pictures folder, it says that I 
can create and delete files and read and write folders. Unison is in the 
/opt folder and is called as //opt/unison/bin/unison-gui/. Could someone 
help please?
