I looked around a bit and now have some code examples in front of me,
probably enough for doing a port.

If I have the basics of 1.5.x working on RH 8.x, I think I can pretty
easily port rpmwrapper.py to rpm 4.2 (no promises yet ;-)) and test
it on 8.1.
