For feature requests and bug reports RC15 RC16. Please use the forum at http://forum.ultravnc.net/ Just an FYI - I managed to get the vncRepeater working using Ultravnc version 19.5. I didn't have the options.vnc file correctly configured and I needed to launch the client side by double-clicking on this options.vnc. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Jay B Knotts Sent: Tuesday, March 22, 2005 3:45 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: [Ultravnc-list] Newbie vncRepeater question. For feature requests and bug reports RC15 RC16. Please use the forum at http://forum.ultravnc.net/ I don't know if the is the right forum for this question. If not just ignore me :-) I'm trying to get Ultravnc to work through the vncRepeater. I just can't seem to make it go. I'm following the instructions on from http://forum.ultravnc.net/viewtopic.php?t=34 I wish to make it work just between two XP (SP2) configured PCs with one PC running the repeater. I've downloaded the binary images build UltraVNC 1.0.0 RC18 and installed it on both PCs What I'm doing is: On PC1 - Started "Run Ultra@VNC Repeater" I get: UltraVnc> socket() initialized UltraVnc> bind() succeded to port 5900 UltraVnc> listen() succeded UltraVnc> Waiting for connection ... Then I start on the Same PC the ULTRA-VNC viewer: I enter - VNC Server ID:555 Proxy/Repeater mylocalipaddress:5900 I then get the following response data in the Repeater window: UltraVnc> socket() initialized UltraVnc> bind() succeded to port 5900 UltraVnc> listen() succeded UltraVnc> Waiting for connection ... UltraVnc> accept() connection UltraVnc> Server ID port 555 UltraVnc> resolving host by name: ID UltraVnc> failed to resolve locally. ERROR: can't resolve hostname: ID UltraVnc> Unable to connect to destination host, errno=11001 UltraVnc> Waiting for connection ... Already I'm suspicious. Then I go the my other PC and start the UTLRA-Server process. I add a new client. Hostname: myotherpc.com:5500 ID Code: ID:555 Enter OK and receive the message "Failed to connect to Listening VNC Server" No more entries showed up in the repeater window. I know I'm missing a basic concept but I can't seem to chase down what that is.
