RE: Compatibility issue with MacOS X VNC clients? (was: Slightly OT - Best MAC OS X VNC?)

Doing some testing with RC20.2, and I did not find any Mac OS X Client
that would work with winvnc. Is anyone able to connect to winvnc using a
viewer running on Mac OS X?

COTV 2.0b2 gave me those errors before closing the connection (one line,
one attempt. Removed duplicates):

Unknown rectangle encoding 436807237 -> exiting
Unknown message type 81
Unknown rectangle encoding 30594778 -> exiting
Unknown rectangle encoding 447262148 -> exiting
Unknown message type -75
Unknown message type -102
Unknown message type 55
Unknown message type 67
Unknown message type -36
Unknown message type 33
Unknown message type -39
Unknown message type 85 

I tried a few other VNC Viewers on MacOS X, and they all failed in
different ways (freeze, etc).
COTV is the only one that got me to see a fully loaded screen, if the
Mac's mouse is outside the screen. As soon as the mouse goes over the
screen, or as soon as the screen changes in any way, I get one of the
errors above.

On the other hand, the same COTV worked fine with TightVNC server, so it
seems to me that the problem could come from Ultr@VNC.

Any comment? Isn't Ultr@VNC supposed to work with any VNC client?

OSX VNC   redstonesoftware.com

Is the only server that I am aware of.

COTV  (Chicken of the VNC) is the best client I am aware of.
