UltraVNC viewer with OS X VNC server?

Anyone else notice that UltraVNC viewer going against OS XVNC server
is *sloooow*?  It takes 30 seconds on a MacMini for the initial screen
to load, and response is sluggish thereafter (about as bad as all
other WinVNC clients are on Windows, compared to the speed of
UltraVNC).

Any suggestions on how to get a better response?

It sure would be nice to have that video hook driver available for OS X! :-)
