The Net Nimble product does run Linux, but the software is closed.  
There isn't much to do when you telnet into it.  So far they have 
implemented whatever I needed (a ping timer for rebooting if it loses 
connection, hardware/software watchdog).  Kelly has been really good 
about customer support also.
