Without knowing whether the receiver in these units is tremendously
more sensitive, I too didn't understand how this was solving problems for
customers.  I can see how SBC or other broadband providers would
want to offer a wireless option.  I presume they called for greater
power in order to solve customer-service problems of complaints
about wireless that couldn't reach out to the deck and the third floor.
But if the customer's laptop wireless card is only 30 or 100 mW, 
if it can get a signal back to the AP, will the AP be sensitive
enough to hear it?
