The > adapter now shows up as uplcom0, which is a device I do not have. well, to answer my onw question, the solution is to read man pages instead of googling in circles like a headless chicken... man uplcom pointed me at man ucom, which got me going. Well, I'm a happy camper now, and it's time to go out for some fresh air. Sorry for the noise Cyril
