Which BSD do you have (Open, Free, NET, i)? I'm running OpenBSD 3.2 with=20
a Linksys WPC11 card. OpenBSD detected the WPC-11 on install. The=20
bsd-airtools package from the openbsd.org ports collection installed and=20
works. I have been able to compile and install dwepcrack separately. I=20
have been able to crack WEP keys with dwepdump/dwepcrack. I used the=20
info available on the dachb0den.com site. One thing I found that I would=20
like more documentation on is how to tell when you're getting duplicate=20
iv's and precisely what the numbers displayed by dwepcrack mean.=20
Equipment that does weak iv filtering makes it very hard or perhaps=20
impossible to collect enough iv's to collect enough iv's. I've spent a=20
full 7 days capturing iv's between cisco gear on a test network without=20
any luck.

In my testing I've found that Linksys, Cisco and Orinoco do weak iv=20
filtering. D-Link told me they do not do weak iv filtering. I've found=20
that Netgear does not do weak iv filtering, at least the MA401 pccard=20
and MA402 ap do not.

My test setup was a laptop running W2K(with Netgear MA401 pccard) with a=20
batch file copying a 65 mb ISO across an MA402 AP to a server on the=20
wired network in a loop. It took 24 hours for dwepdump to catch enough=20
weak iv's for dwepcrack to get the WEP key. dwepcrack took 30 seconds to=20
load the weak iv's and 3 seconds to crack the WEP key. I swapped the=20
MA401 for a Linksys WPC11 and repeated the test. With the WPC11 doing=20
weak iv filtering it took 48 hours of capturing weak iv's from the MA402=20
to get enough to crack the WEP key.

I've also gotten Kismet up and working.
