Does anybody else observe that the Prism firmware sends multicasts
at 11Mb/s instead of at a basic rate (1 or 2Mb/s) like it is supposed
to? Does anybody know a workaround?
I was trying to get an IBM Intersil Prism 2.5 to interoperate with not
only Lucent 802.11b cards, but also some older "Wavelan IEEE Bronze"
(2 Mb/s, no wep). I was not able to get this to work; it seemed like
the prism was transmitting at 11 Mb/s - the lucent 802.11b saw
packets, but not the bronze ones. I believe I had the same problem in
both IBSS mode and "-p 3" mode. So this may be part of the same
problem.
When you say multicast, do you mean just Ethernet multicast
destination addresses, or also broadcast?
