Wireless Bike

Hi all:

Craig's List had a $600 recumbent bike posted yesterday.

It got me thinking. How about a wireless recumbent bike. Two wheel
incumbents fit on TriMet bus and Max. Trikes don't.

The goal would be live community event coverage.

The idea is that you park the wireless bike at a function, then turn on a
live WiFi camera (like the Nikon S50c) and walk around shooting videos (on a
chip). A tablet PC provides the photo, video, SMS and text entry. Flickr
hosts the stills, YouTube hosts the video, and Stickam.com (or other host)
displays the live video.

This service would create a webpage, with embedded live video. The weblog
would be updated during the event with photos, videos and stories gathered
at the event, as well as texting services like Twitter.

It could be free or $200/day. At $200/day, it would be paid off in 15 events
(about 2 years).

Here's my cost breakdown:

(1) Recumbent Bike             - $600
(2) Metrix Box w antennas    - $600
(3) Tablet PC                       - $600
(4) WiFi Camera                  - $300
(5) Still Camera (S-3 Canon) - $300
(6) Battery Pack w inverter    - $100
(7) 25 Watt Solar Charger     - $300
(8) Misc hardware/software    - $200

TOTAL:                        $3,000
