  Wow didn't realize this was going to the list.  To clarify the battery
issue what Matt said about "cycling" being good for batteries(discharging
them, & not just treating it as a desktop i.e. always plugged in) is
definitely true.  On occasion you should even let it run until it sleeps
itself & won't wake until you've given it some juice again.  If I'm not
mistaken leaving a battery completely idle for long periods can harm it's
lifespan as well.  The battery should still last at least a year.  The
AppleCare will cover a "bad" battery.  The one year you have I believe
starts at the date of the item's retail sale by the Apple reseller not by
when you take the time to register the product.  It doesn't matter who buys
the item or even extended AppleCare if it's on the machine, it's covered.

    Seems the ibooks have some weird issues, I've had this one shut itself
off when somehow I held it a certain way applying pressure to a certain
point on the bottom of the shell.  Also have seen the occasional visual
abnormality.  The upside is if your ibook is F@$ked you can wind up with a
800 or 900 mhz board after you've sent in your book for service...& the book
had been a 700mhz.  Heard of a few people receiving an ibook G4 after their
third logic board replacement.  Maybe when I get this book checked out
before it's first year elapses, it'll come back as a 900mhz.
